Reaching out to college coaches via email is a vital step in the recruitment process for at aspiring athlete! Crafting a well-thought-out email can make a lasting impression and open doors to collegiate opportunities.
Use this STAR GUIDE to effectively write emails to college coaches that will increase your chances of getting recruited! This is a prime time for you to SHINE and establish yourself as a STAND OUT STAR!

Use a professional email address: First impressions matter! Ideally, your email address should include your name and exclude any nicknames.
Craft a Clear Subject Line: Your subject line should be concise and informative. A straightforward subject line might read “Prospective Recruit: [Your Name] - [Position] - Class of [Year]”
Introduce Yourself: In the opening of the email, clearly and concisely introduce yourself! Included your full name, positions, and why you are interested in their program.
Share Your Academic/Athletic Achievements: Highlighting your stats, awards, and relevant experiences gives the coach a little background about you as a student and an athlete.
Include a Call to Action: Encourage college coaches to respond by asking a question or suggesting an action, like attending a showcase you are going to be attending. You can also ask the college coaches where they will be attending showcases and camps as well.
